Sosaria in Minecraft
Sosaria in Minecraft

An implementation of Sosaria (Britannia, really) in Minecraft.

Phillip Zibilich has created a massive map of what he calls SosariaBritannia, basically — in Minecraft. It is based on the heightmap of the continent from Ultima Online, with a few corrections here and there to adjust for the limitations of the Minecraft engine.

This map is a few years old, and has not been tested with the latest version of Minecraft. At the time of its release, it also worked with some mods and plugins; compatibility with these and more current mods has not been tested.

Thanks! I was looking for something like this; I had seen another map created from Ultima VI, but it was just flat and boring.

When it comes to Minecraft I’d recommend noting the actual version number (even if it’s the “latest”), because although the page says “tested with the latest version of Minecraft,” Minecraft is updated really frequently. It looks like this map was created for 1.4.7 in March 2013 and doesn’t appear work on the “latest” 1.7.2 version of Minecraft (I’m writing this in December 2013.)

    🙂
