The Outlaw Editor, the editing environment used to create Lawless Legends and Ancient Legends.
While you’re waiting for the release of the still-in-development Lawless Legends, the developers have released another game for you to enjoy, which uses the same engine but features a fantasy setting. Ancient Legends is “a fantasy Role Playing game made for the Apple II series of home computer created by 8 Bit Weapon and friends!” The mini-scenario (it’s not a lengthy game by any means) was actually created as a demo for the recently-released Outlaw Editor, the cross-platorm RPG creation suite that is also being used to develop Lawless Legends.
Disk images for Ancient Legends — a two-disk version and a reduced single-disk version — are available for download. You’ll need to spin up an Apple II emulator (such as AppleWin) to play either version. The Outlaw Editor is also available here, or through the Lawless Legends GitHub repository. Finally, a manual for Ancient Legends can be found at this link.
