The Sosarian Paradox

The Sosarian Paradox is, according to its developer, “a re-imagining of an old and very rare Sierra On-Line game from 1983 known as Ultima: Escape from Mt. Drash.” What is more, instead of being a retro-themed remake, attempting to re-create the original look and feel of Keith Zabalaoui’s authorized — but non-canonical — Ultima-inspired game, Melavir Sauin Dragon is building this remake using Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition (after previously attempting to build it using the CORE Games framework, a game creation and sharing community (similar to ROBLOX) based on the powerful Unreal Engine).
As you might well imagine, then, this take on Mt. Drash looks very different indeed:

Thus far, Melavir Sauin has implemented the game’s prologue and first act (which is set in Sosaria), and has begun working on the second act (set in the Time of Legends). He has also been drawing from the Ultima X: Odyssey soundtrack to provide music for the module, and has even worked out a way to get the NWN engine to tie the player’s overall progress through the story to the decisions s/he makes in e.g. dialogue options.
The work-in-progress version of the remake — the module, hak paks, soundtrack, and supporting documentation — can be downloaded from The Neverwinter Vault, and you can follow development progress on the module in its dedicated channel on the Ultima Dragons Discord server.
