Corven – Path of Redemption is an independently-developed game that grew out of the cancelled Ultima IX: Redemption fan project. Originally announced as an Unreal Engine-based game, it has since been ported to the Unity engine, which its developer notes is better-suited small team development efforts.

Corven is described as a “story-driven, single-player, interactive open world RPG inspired by the Ultima series and classic JRPGs”, and is intended to feature an expansive and interactive world that boasts a number of different biomes, an engaging and deep story, and a dynamic, living world populated by fully-realized NPCs that — in the finest tradition of Ultima — have complete schedules that follow the game world’s day/night cycle. Player progression is not tightly coupled with action and combat, although Corven will definitely feature no small amount of entertaining, real-time combat.

Corven is, at present, being crowdfunded on Kickstarter; the campaign there will run from June 9, 2020, until July 9, 2020. And yes, among the rewards for backers are physical, boxed copies of the game, and (of course) cloth maps.
